About Kate
Kate Beurmann-O’Neill is originally from Rochester, New York. Her father was a member of the United States Army during her childhood, causing the family to move a few times. Her family settled down in Vienna, Virginia when Kate was 6 years old.
Kate Beurmann-O’Neill joined Vanderpool, Frostick & Nishanian as Of Counsel in August 2025. Kate has been an attorney licensed in Virginia for over 20 years.
The focus of Kate’s practice is family law, which encompasses the areas of Divorce, Equitable Distribution, Custody, Visitation, Child Support, Spousal Support, Marital Settlement Agreements, Prenuptial Agreements, Uncontested Adoption, Contested Adoptions and Terminations of Parental Rights, Paternity matters, Modifications of Prior custody, visitation and support orders, and guardianships and conservatorships for incapacitated adults.
Having been through her own divorce, Kate understands the needs of her clients and their children as they navigate this very stressful time. Kate has helped many clients through complex issues, including step-parent adoption, division of family business in a divorce, imputation of income in support matters, and issues of child custody which involve allegations of abuse and neglect.
Kate is heavily involved in the legal community, where she is the current Vice Chair of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Family Law Section Board, as well as the President Elect of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association.
In her free time, Kate enjoys paddleboarding and relaxing at Lake Anna, and spending time with extended family and friends. She lives in Prince William County with her husband, son, daughter and stepdaughter, and enjoys visiting with her two additional stepdaughters who live away from home.
