In this blog series, Meet the Staff, we are introducing the VF&N staff who work behind the scenes to make the work our attorneys do for our clients possible.
They are legal assistants, bookkeepers, receptionists, and office managers (and marketing directors!). If you’ve ever wondered about the inner workings of our firm, we are pulling back the curtain to shine a light on our dedicated staff. While all the staff at Vanderpool, Frostick, & Nishanian, P.C. demonstrates each of our core values, there is one person who has been with firm nearly since its inception who has seen it all: legal assistant Becky Spencer.
Becky will celebrate her 30th anniversary working at VF&N in March 2018. While her official title is legal assistant to Mike Vanderpool, Karen Cohen, and Paul Gauthier, her tenure at the firm has made her an expert on our business operations. She is also an office manager, serving as an administrator and a liaison to vendors. When asked about her job duties, she laughed and said, “after all these years, still no day is the same.”
Becky has been with the firm through three name changes, many more office changes, major global events, joys and heartaches. Through it all she says the best thing about working at VF&N is the people, “everyone here is very even-tempered, kind, and respectful; in almost 30 years, I’ve never seen anyone even come close to flying off the handle.” She also mentioned the firm’s work-life balance, saying she was grateful that she could have flexible hours when her kids were younger to volunteer at their school once a week. Now that her two daughters are grown, she looks forward to volunteering as an English language coach through her church.
Becky exemplifies the commitment to excellence that is at the heart of everything we do here at VF&N. She’s a team-player, willing to help anyone with anything, and her opinion is held in the highest regard by everyone in the office.
