VF&N’s community association attorneys provide comprehensive counsel and representation primarily to homeowner and condominium associations involving a wide range of matters such as:
- Property Owners’ Association Act
- Condominium Act
- Collection of Delinquent Accounts
- Enforcement Actions
- Employment, Construction, and other Civil Disputes and Litigation
- Governing Document Drafting and Interpretation
- Policy and Resolutions
- Board Education and Training
- Defending Against Administrative and Legal Complaints
Throughout our representation of associations, our goal is to assist boards in diligently performing their duties and responsibilities with an eye towards minimizing legal costs, fostering good relations with the association members, and promoting a positive community atmosphere. To that end, we work with clients to find win-win solutions to the various problems or disputes that may arise. Our experience has shown that an unnecessarily contentious or adversarial approach tends only to increase legal costs while reducing the overall effectiveness of the Board. In those cases where a nonjudicial resolution of an issue is not possible, we work with our clients to try and identify the most cost effective strategy to bring or defend against a legal action. We also offer our clients an open phone policy to better provide our clients the counsel they need when they need it.
